Preparation
We prepare you to join Merchant Navy in various streams:- 1 year - Diploma in Nautical Science (DNS)
- 3 Years - B Sc. in Nautical Science
- 4 year - B. Tech (Marine Engg)
- 1 year - Graduate Marine Engineer (GME)
- 4 Months - Electro technical Officer (ETO Course)
- GP Rating - 6 Month Course (Engine & Deck)

Academic (Results must be obtained at 1st attempt) | All Boards (Class 12th): Min Aggregate percentage 60%, PCM Min 60%. Incase of 11th & 12th class boards wherever held then the aggregate of marks for both classes must meet same criteria OR B.Sc. Physics, Chemistry, Maths, Electronics with Min 55% in final year and min 55% in PCM fr 12th Class or BE/B.Tech - Any stream from an AICTE approved institute | 10+2 or equivalent (PCM-60% average and minimum of 50% marks in English subject in 10th or 12th Examination.) | All Boards (Class 12th): Min Aggregate percentage 60%, PCM Min 60%. Admissions to Diploma in Nautical Science leading to B.Sc. (Applied Nautical Science) programme in Affiliated Institutes are open only to ‘sponsored candidates’, i.e. candidates sponsored by Ship Owning or Managing Companies and who qualify in IMU’s CET for UG programmes. | ||||||
All applicants to these UG programmes i.e. 1-year Diploma in Nautical Science (DNS) course leading to B.Sc (Applied Nautical Science), 3-year B.Sc (Nautical Science) and B.Sc (Maritime Science) need to fulfil the guidelines of the Director-General of Shipping, Mumbai with regard to physical fitness. The prospective candidates are required to produce a medical fitness certificate in the prescribed format issued by a Medical Officer approved by Directorate General of Shipping. | ||||||
For DNS / B.Sc :- In case of SC/ST candidates there will be a 5% relaxation in eligibility marks; however, it will not apply to English marks. |
